The Intex Solar Heater Mat for Above Ground Pools is small and like all Intex products is super easy to install. This isn’t the pump for a large pool but if you have a small above ground pool it can raise the temperature by a few degrees. Intex claims 3 to 5 degrees depending on weather conditions and I would also add that pool size plays a big factor as well. The smaller the pool the better temperature increase you’ll see. POSITIVES
Seems like most of the positive feedback came from those that had smaller pools. A number of customers even used 2 heaters to heat their pools.
NEGATIVES
There was a number of complaints about the quality and how the lines tend to kink up. Leaks caused by the kinks yet after talking to Intel’s customer service all seemed well.
Our Thoughts
While we think the Intex Solar Heater Mat for Above Ground Pools is decent for the price and better for smaller pools. If you have a pool with more water you would be better off going with a Fafco Above Ground Solar Heating System.
